EU科学技術協力協定署名15周年記念レセプションに出席
Attended the Reception to Commemorate the 15th Anniversary of the Signing of the EU Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement
EU科学技術協力協定署名15周年記念レセプションに招待され、参加いたしました。本レセプションには盛山正仁文部科学大臣、河野太郎デジタル大臣他、日本および欧州の政府関係者や官僚、企業関係者も多く出席されていました。私は2020年にムーンショット目標5のプログラムディレクターとしてパケ駐日EU大使にお目にかかりました。その時にHorizon Europe事業との連携等についての意見交換をさせていただいたのがきっかけで、その後、大使ならびにEU関係者との交流が始まっています。EUでは地球環境の持続性に関する課題が大きなテーマになっており、土壌劣化抑制など農業関連の技術革は重要事項として掲げられています。今後も、EUとの連携をさらに進めていくことが重要だと考えています。
I was invited to attend a reception to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the signing of the EU Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement. The reception was attended by Mr. Masahito Moriyama, Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Mr. Taro Kono, Minister of Digital Media, as well as many Japanese and European government officials, bureaucrats, and business people. I met Mr. Jean-Eric Paquet, the EU Ambassador to Japan, as the Program Director of Moonshot Goal 5 in 2020. The EU has been focusing on global environmental sustainability issues, and agricultural technology innovation, such as soil degradation control, is an important issue for the EU. The EU has made the issue of global environmental sustainability a major theme. We believe it is important to further promote cooperation with the EU in the future.
